Mayong (Assam) – Worlds Capital of Black Magic


Mayong is 34km away from Guwahati near the bank of Mighty Brahmaputra river. From time immortal, it is famous for supernatural stories. It is said that people come here from far and wide off area to learn magic. Mayong is a land of Tantra-Mantra and famous for its practice of Black Magic. Age old tradition of Black Magic is also a source of Tourist attractions. There are ample number of ancient shrines and temples in and around Mayong. The place is called the “Land of Pancha Devata”, which refers to five deities who are Dinesh, Ganesh, Vishnu, Siva and Shivi (Parvati). This is also known as the Worlds Capital of “Black Magic”.

The Sanskrit word aratrika with the same meaning aarti is a Hindu religious ritual of worship, a part of puja, in which light from wicks soaked in ghee (purified butter) or camphor is offered to one or more deities.  It is a prayerful ceremony performed in extolled greeting and thanksgiving of the Deities where devotees are reminded of God’s glorious presence and providence. Often it is  performed in temples six or seven times per day.

The KaliYug (Iron Age)

The Yug Cycle tells us that we are now living in the Kali Yug. according to Indian Myths the age of darkness, when morality and mental capabilities reach their lowest point in the end of Yug cycle. The Great  Indian epic, Mahabharata describes the Kali Yuga as the period when the “World Soul” is Black in color, only one quarter of morality remains, which slowly fade to zero .The KaliYug (Iron Age) was preceded by three others Yugas: SatYug (Golden Age), Treta Yug (Silver Age) and the Dwapara Yug (Bronze Age).  in Sanskrit scriptures, this  is the “Age of Downfall”, that is the fourth stage of the world development that we are currently in. According to the astronomer and the  mathematician Aryabhatta the KaliYug started in 3102 BC. He finished his book “Aryabhatta” in 499 AD in which he gives the exact year of the beginning of KaliYug.
